Skills Assessment Tool v1.0

I was involved in the functional specification, page template design and overall development of this online skills questionnaire from concept to nationwide release. I helped write and edit the statements and was also the university contact for the ESiB technical team. This application provided a quick and easy way for managers to access the business and IT skills of their employees. Any recorded data was used to deliver a semi-automated report.

Exploring Organisational Issues

This was designed as piece of blended learning to bridge the gap between two stand-up training sessions. From the script, I specified all aspects of the user interface including the information structure, navigation and the graphic balance. Together with the graphic designer I designed interactions, animations and a colour scheme designed to aid accessibility. Developed in Flash, the learning material had to take into account the low bandwidth of the users.

Mountain biking is a passion of mine and I try to cycle off-road with friends as often as I can. I have been playing indoor five-a-side football on Sunday mornings for a year, and hope to join an evening league in the near future.

To relax I like to go walking or swimming or see live music. When the weather is fair I enjoy playing tennis or getting away from it all by going camping. When the nights are shorter I usually take an evening class and in recent years have completed French Conversation for Beginners, Contemporary Cinema, and European Mythology.

In the past few years I have discovered surfing and plan to do more, hopefully somewhere warmer than Cornwall.
